His Dream
For the first time in 12 years Lord Ryder was back in England in the springtime. The first person he saw was a vision with turquoise eyes; his recurring dream of the IDEAL, the perfect woman. There she sat, in person, and more perfect even than all his dreams.
Her Nightmare
One look at the very large man, his cape swirling around his shoulders as his green eyes froze in a menacing stare at her, and all Lily’s childhood fears returned an hundred-fold, her worst nightmare come true. The monster had finally come for her.
Their Reality
Would he find her before his enemies found him?
The Lady Vanishes London Ladies Book 1 edition by Dyan Cottle Romance eBooks
Three stars for the author's creative plot ideas and intent. Grammatical and spelling errors, both English and French, abound and ruin what might be a really good book, worthy of four stars. Incomplete sentences and too many commas make for annoying reading. This story has good basic bones, good interesting main and secondary characters, but never addresses several needed explanations within the story. It needs major proofreading and intelligent editing. There are too many words spent on needless descriptions and too few words spent in fleshing out the main romance and the underlying spying plot. Too many modern words and phrases are inserted into the nineteenth century dialogue, and I don't mean the intentional additions related to criminal investigations. It is difficult to believe the basic premise attached to the heroine's nightmares. There are some really good chapters within the novel and the author has obvious talent. I hope the author seriously reworks this story because it has so much promise. The final chapter leaves the reader hanging, and dissatisfied even if there is a sequel in the offing. The hopefully happily ever after epilogue seems to be inserted to give the reader some kind of closure. However, it appears to be simply an afterthought, as though the author ran out of inspiration and ideas and just stopped writing. This romance/spy novel deserves a thorough reworking. Good idea, poor execution.Product details
